Be part of Playgroup life

We love having our parents and carers involved in Playgroup, and there are lots of ways you can get involved — whether you have a little time to spare, a special skill to share, or simply want to see more of what happens during a Playgroup session.

Parents and carers are welcome to come in and help during sessions once their child has settled in. We have a voluntary parent rota where you can sign up to lend a hand. Helping out is informal and relaxed, and our staff will always be there to guide you if you need it.

There’s absolutely no expectation to help when your child first starts. We recommend waiting until they have been with us for around half a term, giving them (and you!) time to settle into Playgroup first.

Volunteering during a session is a lovely way to see what your child gets up to during their day, get to know the staff and other children, and help the children make the most of their play and learning experiences.

Share your skills and interests

We also love it when parents and carers share their own skills, hobbies, jobs and interests with the children.

You might play a musical instrument, enjoy gardening, sewing, cooking or crafting, or have an interesting job or hobby that the children would love to learn about.

Perhaps you're a chef, nurse, mechanic, farmer or dentist, could bring in something exciting from your workplace, or would enjoy sharing another language, culture or tradition with the children.

Whether you can spare ten minutes, an afternoon or simply have an idea you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you!

Speak to a member of the team if you'd like to get involved.
